The Cystem of a Down
Gaftwud Towers I, Ivyex
8/18
After a long night, three pairs of strangers met in the ever growing town of Ivyex.
Simiae Rex & Steve Austin had spent the prior evening rescuing a little Ivyex girl who had been kidnapped by moles looking to ransom her for some V20.
Skeatch and Dorrix made sure they were in town because The Cystem was coming through, and that meant opportunities for jobs.
Sinoda and Jeecco had come to town a few days earlier as guards of an ice caravan from Miller's Compound. Milas Frijter, a local scout had met them at the Cathouse tavern and revelry ensued.
The heroes were enjoying the carnival games The Cystem brought to town when they bumped into a local gang of canine rabble-rousers. Milas particularly had a rivalry with them over survey and sherpa services in the area. The group decided they would compete with The Good Boys for the carnival prizes which also included discounts at the auction. After reviewing the auction items Steve found that it included a technologically advanced hyper-conducting circuit that would be useful to Theta Bunker.
They were beaten at a log race by Primley, a greyhound from the Good Boys, but triumphed at the singing, shooting and boxing games despite Milas taking a punch to the throat (from Sinoda) that put him in the infirmary for the rest of the day. This brought the group to the final challenge, a table race across two steep hills. The Good Boys jumped a head while the heroes stalled out. Eventually Simiae joined the pushers of the rickety cart and thanks to Dorrix's keen eye sight they were able to catch up and cross the finish-line by a nose.
While celebrating their victory a great commotion came from the village proper. A large metal monstrosity was wobbling through town using two eye stalks to set buildings, and in some cases people, on fire. It was quickly joined by a second one as the people of Ivyex scattered. The team leapt into action taking up various positions. Smartly using cover, and their individual attack abilities Simiae and Dorrix managed to topple one of the bots and discovered they were not armored on the bottom. Sinoda used his pick axe effectively to end one of them, and Skeatch used his bolas to slow, and then incapacitate his until he could jab his spear into it's undercarriage spilling it's electrical guts all over the place.
Orion, the town temporary sheriff, & Rolland, one of the leaders of The Cysterm, came to them, thanked them for their help and then informed them that the auction truck had been robbed. The team offered to help, for the price of one auction item and the salvage from the two bots.
Dorrix was able to 'port himself ahead and view the situation. One more 'bot had taken the items and was moving as quickly as it could toward the tunnel to Fallun. There were several armored humans protecting their leader, clearly a villain from Fallun. Dorrix was able to slow down the 'bot and then reposition himself before the rest of the group showed up on their motorcycles. Battle ensued, and through team work and a solid back-of-the-motorcycle pickax shot to one of the guards the battle ended with a capturing of two of the gang and their boss; The Commie-rad!

With the help of Apollo's AI translator they were able to interpret that Commie-rad's plan was to reconfigure the tunnel to Fallun to take him and is group somewhere else. After a quick examination of the tunnel they decided to leave it alone for now and bring the stolen goods, the extra salvage, and their prisoners back to Ivyex.
